I'd wanted to do a yuki-onna picture for some time and the cover for the Winter special of 'Weng's Chop' seemed to be an opportunity. Lafcadio Hearn's story was adapted to film in 1964's KWAIDAN and a feature film about her, KAIDAN YUKIJORO was released in 1968. For more on the good lady see Zack Davisson's article.
